Sheepskin-based

  • Natural sheepskin has traditionally been and continues to be widely used in therapeutic rehabilitation. This is because pure wool fibre in the form of genuine sheepskin has THREE unique properties - resilience, vapour dispersion and thermal insulation.
  • These properties are needed notably in pressure sore treatment where they enable the reduction of pressure over bony areas of the body and skin whilst at the same time maintain the skin temperature and humidity at an optimum level.
  • A wool pile depth of 25 mm is recommended for the best pressure sore reduction and optimum warmth. This depth is offered in all Glanmor medical sheepskin products - cushions, bed fleeces, support aids & footwear
